On October 12th, SHAN FUTURE FORUM 2021: Towards Diversity was successfully held by yehyehyeh and Shanghai Fashion Week online. The forum focuses on sustainable fashion, and is launched by innovative fashion consultant agency yehyehyeh.
Jane Wang, Chairman and General Manager of Inner Mongolia Erdos Resources Co., Ltd, Jinqing Cai, President of Kering Greater China, and Dr. Wenwei Ren, Shanghai Regional Program Director of WWF Beijing Office, attended the forum and made wonderful speeches discussing the harmonious coexistence of fashion and nature, and sharing actionable sustainable fashion practice.
At the forum, Jane Wang made a presentation themed “Restorative Generation: Fashion and Biodiversity”. Wang believes that to ensure the sustainable development of cashmere industry, it is crucial to curb the expansion of desertification, restore the natural ecology of grassland and protect biodiversity .
Erdos Group is always keen to learn from the valuable experiences in biodiversity conservation from home and abroad, and continuously adopts them in its own practice. Farm operation and cashmere goat breeding are at the very front end of the whole cashmere industrial chain, and form the main battlefield of biodiversity protection. Erdos has incorporated pasture development into its strategic plan, with stepped-up efforts, increased investment, as well as a series of work in pasture promotion, R&D, implementation of high price for quality policy, construction of standardized demonstration farm, etc. Erdos has achieved good results on various fronts, including protection of high-quality cashmere goats, quality control and improvement, as well as grassland ecological conservation.
At the same time, through building demonstration farms and the promoting application of research results, Erdos aims to make sure the tangible benefits of its scientific endeavors are shared with the farmers. On the occasion of the Group’s 40th anniversary, Erdos set up a 100-million-yuan Aid Fund under China Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program (CSPGP) to help farmers get out of their plight and move towards common prosperity.
As a Chinese local brand, Erdos sees as its responsibility and obligation to protect and facilitate the construction and development of farms. Meanwhile it supports farmers to scientifically manage their practice, protect the prices of cashmere raw materials, and ensure suppliers appreciate the importance of sustainability. The future is now -- Erdos hopes to join hands with more enterprises and organizations to shape a sustainable fashion industry together.
Prior to this event, Erdos made a wonderful appearance at Shanghai Fashion Week SS22 and showcased the brand’s ideology and practice on sustainability, winning wide attention and recognition from attendees.
Erdos’s pursuit for high quality cashmere goes to the source of raw materials. It has established its own standardized modern farms, and weaved it together natural environment, social cultures, and economic development. With a distinctive brand signature, Erdos plays an exemplary role by exploring various possibilities of sustainable fashion.
